Source: Polished Commander & Warleader
The feylord plays in the courts of fey, exchanging favors owed to old and capricious powers.
Casting
The feylord may combine spheres and talents to create magical effects. The feylord is considered a Low-Caster.
Spell Pool
The feylord gains a small reservoir of energy they can call on to create truly wondrous effects, called a spell pool. This pool contains a number of spell points equal to their commander level + their casting ability modifier (minimum 1). This pool replenishes once per day after roughly 8 hours of rest.
Blended Training (Ex)
Whenever a feylord gains a combat talent from their class level progression, they may instead choose to gain a magic talent. The feylord uses their practitioner modifier as their operative modifier.
This replaces combat training.
Fey Native (Ex)
At 1st level, the feylord’s type changes to fey. This does not recalculate hit points, base attack bonus, skill points per level or other statistics. The feylord gains low-light vision; if they already possess low-light vision, its effectiveness triples (rather than doubles) the distance they can see.
Court’s Favor (Ex)
At 1st level, the feylord gains the Warleader sphere as a bonus sphere, plus an additional Fallen Fey or Warleader sphere talent at each odd level after 1st.
The feylord treats their class level as their caster level with the Fallen Fey sphere. This stacks normally with caster levels gained from other sources.
This alters battlefield operator.
Blessing-Boons of the Feylord (Su)
At 3rd level, the feylord treats any allied fey as benefitting from the feylord’s Warleader sphere effects (such as determining when to benefit from an enhanced tactic or battlefield specialty). This includes any ally benefitting from the feylord’s fey-link.
At 9th level, whenever the feylord uses the Nature Connection fey blessing, the feylord may spend 1 additional spell point to also grant the target the benefits of a single battlefield specialty. The feylord must grant the battlefield specialty for the terrain they are currently in (subject to GM discretion). Each creature may only benefit from a single battlefield specialty this way, even if the feylord could use this ability multiple times; if the feylord grants a target a new battlefield specialty, they lose the benefits of the previously selected one.
At 15th level, the feylord may grant any battlefield specialty this way (not just the battlefield specialty that matches the current terrain).
This alters battlefield specialty.
Feylord Logistics Specialties
Fey Specialists
Instead of drawing on a network of past connections, the feylord calls upon the servants of the faerie courts.
The following specialists replace those normally available to a commander through the call in a specialist logistics specialty.
Unlike a normal specialist, fey specialists are fey creatures with class levels (unless otherwise stated). Because fey have varying challenge ratings (CR), their total number of class levels will be listed after the creature type and class type (i.e. the fairy guide specialist would be a sprite ranger or professional (Level -3), meaning their total ranger or professional levels are equal to the feylord’s class level -3).
-
Brownie Menders: Fey & Class: A number of Brownie (Bestiary 2) equal to the feylord’s class level -3. Services: Each brownie mender provides the labor of 5 human laborers on any construction, maintenance, or repair projects (provided they have access to sufficient materials).
If assigned to repair a structure, each brownie mender restores 10 hit points per day. If assigned to assist with a nonmagical crafting project, each brownie mender provides a cumulative +1 bonus on the Craft check, and allows the Craft check to be completed 5% faster per brownie mender (up to 50% of the normal time required).
-
Fairy Guide: Fey & Class: Sprite (Bestiary 3) Ranger or Professional (Level -3). Services: The fairy guide knows the local fey population well. The fairy guide may use any abilities they possess to assist the feylord in traveling through natural terrain. The fairy guide accompanies the feylord as a noncombatant, and will even accompany them into dangerous environments to help defuse tension with animals, fey, monstrous humanoids, or plant creatures to the best of their ability (but will still do their best to escape to safety if combat begins).
In addition, while accompanying the feylord, other fey’s starting disposition towards the feylord begins one step higher (even if they would normally begin hostile). The sprite also grants a bonus equal to its Hit Dice on all checks made to gather information about fey creatures in the area.
-
Gremlin Plague: Fey & Class: A number of gremlins equal to the feylord’s class level (the type of gremlin being appropriate to the terrain). Services: Instead of accompanying the feylord and providing a specific service, when the gremlin plague is called as a specialist, the feylord chooses a single settlement no larger than a village within 1 day’s travel, +1 size category per 3 feylord levels after 7th (see Table: Gremlin Plague below). If infesting a settlement smaller than the feylord’s maximum size, the gremlin plague is treated as having been present in the settlement for 1 additional day for its effects (but not when counting the number of days until the gremlin plague is hunted).
After the 1st day, any creature that spends at least 1 day in the settlement is fatigued from constant stress and annoyance.
After the 3rd day, any common mechanical object has a 20% chance of being broken (door knobs, locks, doors, hinges; any common object that could be sabotaged has a 20% chance to be nonfunctional). To determine if an object was broken, the GM rolls the percentile chance each day the first day the object would be used.
After the 5th day, a creature that spends at least 1 day in the settlement is both fatigued and angry (but unable to locate the source of their anger). If a creature angered by this effect would enter combat, they may freely choose the subject of their anger from among their enemy combatants.
At the 7th day, the settlement begins to hunt the gremlins (typically succeeding after 1 day of hard work). If a gremlin plague is removed from a settlement this way, the feylord must spend 1 month to replace the gremlin plague (the same as replacing a normal specialist).
-
Shapeshifting Courier: Fey & Class: Pooka (Bestiary 4) Agent or Vigilante (Level -4). Services: The shapeshifting courier may use any abilities they possess to help the feylord disguise themselves or their allies or to gain access to a locked or restricted location (such as sneaking behind a locked gate to unlock it, creating distractions, and so on).
The pooka can assume the shape of a mundane animal to travel unnoticed, and is able to deliver messages and small objects into most any location, including heavily guarded ones (provided they are not warded against fey).
Table: Gremlin Plague
| Feylord Level | Effective Settlement Size |
|---|---|
| 7 | Village |
| 10 | Small town |
| 13 | Large town |
| 16 | Small city |
| 19 | Large city |
